What to know
- Municipal water is treated by a reverse-osmosis unit before it can be used to make dialysate.
- Water is tested for chemical contaminants and microbiological purity before commissioning and at regular intervals after.
- Pre-treatment — sediment filters, carbon filters, softeners — is specified based on your building's supply.
- Never bypass or delay a scheduled water test or filter change, even if the machine raises no alarm.
