Cost and insurance coverage for home dialysis

Many UAE insurance policies cover home dialysis, but the level of cover and the approval process vary considerably between insurers.

What to know

  • Coverage usually needs pre-authorisation from your insurer with a nephrologist's justification letter.
  • Ask specifically what is covered: machine, consumables, nursing hours and technical support are sometimes handled separately.
  • Compare against your current total cost, including transport and time away from work.
  • Trivita's coordination team prepares the documentation insurers ask for — ask us before you apply.
