What to know
- Sets the prescription: session length, frequency, dialysate composition, blood and dialysate flow rates, and target dry weight.
- Reviews monthly bloods and adjusts the prescription as your clinical picture changes.
- Decides when access problems, adequacy problems or symptoms need intervention.
- Coordinates transplant workup and referral if that is a path you want to explore.
